Week 19 of #52weeksofgiving - Wounded Warrior Project

For week 19 of #52weeksofgiving, LeMay Family Goodworks is supporting Wounded Warrior Project! Last Thursday, May 5th, we partnered with Bernie’s Beach Bar and Summer Sessions Surf Shop to sponsor the Cinco De Mayo Beach Bar Crawl for a Cause in Hampton Beach, NH. Everyone had a blast, and we are excited to share that collectively…

We raised $15,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project!

Thanks to the Fleury Group and Summer Sessions for being great partners. We are thrilled with the results and the opportunity to give back to a wonderful Veteran organization.

Read on for more about Wounded Warrior Project and how you can help make a difference in the lives of countless brave military members.

About Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is dedicated to Veterans and service members injured, ill, or wounded while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. WWP offers a plethora of free programs to help warriors, their families, and their caregivers with recovery and the transition to civilian life by providing them with a community and numerous resources.

WWP believes “that every warrior should have a positive future to look forward to.” The renowned Veteran organization helps warriors create that future.

Wounded Warrior Project Programs

WWP guides both active and retired service members in their recovery and transition to civilian life. Eligible warriors can apply and take advantage of programs in areas like:

  • Mental health

  • Financial wellness

  • Physical health

  • Peer and community connection

From adaptive sports to career and VA benefits counseling to Project Odyssey, a 12-week mental health program, and everything in between, WWP offers no shortage of options for warriors searching for support.

WWP also provides long-term support to Veterans living with injuries that impact their independence, such as moderate to severe brain injury, spinal cord injury, or neurological conditions through the Independence Program. Warriors enrolled in this program have access to more community services and rehabilitation through alternative therapies. It also aims to empower warriors to set and achieve their goals and lead more independent lives.

Additionally, family members supporting the transition and recovery of a wounded, ill, or injured warrior can join the Veteran family support programs and connect with other families like their own.

Best of all? Participants never pay a cent, as WWP relies on funding from generous donors! In 2021 alone, WWP invested nearly $210 million in life-changing programs for warriors and their families — that’s 71% of their total expenses that went directly toward the programs.

How to Get Involved

Those interested in supporting WWP can choose from several donation options, including a one-time, monthly, or memorial donation. Organizations can even get their teams involved through employee giving! Learn more about different ways to donate to WWP.

WWP also offers many opportunities to host or participate in a fundraiser for those who wish to get involved directly. Whether you register for a Carry Forward 5K, host a golf tournament, or create your own unique fundraiser, there are many ways to give back!

Would you or a loved one benefit from WWP? Learn more or contact their Resource Center at 888-997-2586 to be connected to the support you need today. To keep up with this impactful Veteran organization, follow them on Instagram @wwp or join in the conversation on Facebook.
