Dishing Out Delicious Free Meals with Red’s Good Vibes

LeMay Family Goodworks is feeling all the good (and delicious) vibes after meeting Red’s Good Vibes recently, thanks to Michelle’s good friend, Jenn! Red’s Good Vibes catered fantastic food for Beau’s 10th birthday party last week, which was a hit.

But Red’s Good Vibes isn’t your typical food truck! They provide free meals to local individuals and families in need. We loved their mission and positive attitudes so much, we were excited to donate and help them distribute 7,500 meals to the local community!

Plus, we look forward to working on a special project with Red’s Good Vibes founders and siblings Caitlin, Meghan, and Mike, along with Vibe Food Truck. Hint: #allthevibes! Stay tuned for more details.

About Red’s Good Vibes

Red’s Good Vibes is a unique food truck serving the New Hampshire and Maine communities. The small family-run nonprofit gives out free meals to anyone in need, including seniors, those experiencing homelessness, veterans, and anyone with food insecurity.

Caitlin, Meghan, and Mike started the grassroots nonprofit in honor of their youngest brother, nicknamed Red, who passed away a few years ago. They honor his legacy with a “mission to provide support and relief to the community with a kind heart and no judgment.”

Caitlin and Meghan describe Red as caring, considerate, funny, and creative. Philanthropic by nature, he loved to cook and wanted to share that gift with others. Red dreamed of opening a food truck where he could earn enough to support himself part-time, then use the remainder to provide free food to those in need.

Launched in February 2021, Red’s Good Vibes serves up family recipes year-round, all to the tune of Red’s favorite music while wearing tye dye in his memory. The siblings aim to reduce the stigma around reaching out for assistance and make it easier. Their food truck provides a welcoming, positive place for people to dine together.

While the sisters are nurses by trade who now spend many days behind the grill, big brother Mike covers food truck maintenance, permitting, health inspections, and financials. In a NH Chronicle segment from November 2021, Meghan and Caitlin explained that all volunteers, patrons, and supporters become a part of the family, too!

Nicknamed “Big Red,” the free food truck currently serves in Dover, Hampton, Somersworth, Rochester, Newmarket, and Kittery, with more in the works. People can order a meal, no questions asked, from the ever-changing menu—all while maintaining their dignity.

During the pandemic, Red’s Good Vibes also offered no-contact food deliveries to families within a 30-mile radius of Portsmouth to provide relief when many lost their jobs and were struggling financially.

The siblings explain their joy at being able to follow their dream and knowing they’re doing what they’re meant to be doing. They say that although they give good vibes, they get them back, too!
