Week 7 of #52weeksofgiving Special Olympics

For Week 7 of #52weeksofgiving we are featuring The Special Olympics of New Hampshire.

Larry, a team member of the family attended the Penguin Plunge this past weekend. Larry and his fellow members at the Newmarket Polish American Club raised over $10K for the Special Olympics.

The Penguin Plunge is a huge fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics and the athletes. In order to participate, individuals or teams collect pledges from friends, family, and colleagues to lock in their spot!

The mission of Special Olympics New Hampshire is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Special Olympics New Hampshire mission remains as vital today as it did when the movement was founded fifty years ago.

A big THANK YOU to the Special Olympics for striving to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people.
